Crime Fiction murders phones [Sep. 14th, 2005|01:37 pm]

I have no idea how I managed to do it this time. When I set it into its charger, my phone rapidly power-cycles on-off-on-off. Since my phone's startup screen is a Crime Fiction logo — yes, I'm a dork — this actually looks kind of cool... but, then the room begins to smell of burning plastic.

Latest dirt on 007 doings
Posted on Sun, 11-Sep-2005

Bond insider 'Mr X' has been spot-on before, so we're giving him the podium again to wax lyrical on what's new in "Casino Royale" land.

"I can confirm that the casting net is indeed wide, and that the producers have indeed reached a dead end. It seems Julian McMahon's new reps blew the deal for him by demanding an outrageous amount of money; this foul-up was made even more embarrassing when it transpired that the contract on offer was not, in fact, an offer; it was the standard Bond deal memo that everyone meeting with the producers is required to sign. Regardless, McMahon is now officially out of the running", our scooper says.

"As for what else is transpiring, I can confirm that the producers are deathly scared of the "Bourne" films and their impact, and are hoping to emulate their style. That means: Young Bond. Look for an actor in his late-20s/early-30s, possibly Australian... and no, it ain't Alex O'Lachlan...".

Again, Brosnan busts a gut from laughing so much.

Ullyot's script is about a struggling writer who achieves success by killing his girlfriend then writing a book about a struggling writer who kills his girlfriend, but then is undone when he’s convinced to write a book about a struggling writer who kills his girlfriend then writes a book about a struggling writer who kills his girlfriend, by an older author who’s jealous, bored, and is using the whole plot as grist for a movie he’s writing about an older author who convinces a struggling writer who kills his girlfriend and writes a book about a struggling writer who kills his girlfriend to write a book about a struggling writer who kills his girlfriend then writes a book about a struggling writer who kills his girlfriend.

Our postproduction supervisor Sharon also teaches an editing seminar at a school downtown. She's teaching the editing of our film to one of her sections this semester, and Messrs. Ballou, Slocombe and I are to make appearances at the course as "guest lecturers" to discuss the project, offer feedback on the editors' cuts, etc.

Today, the first meeting of the seminar.

Could we turn part of this into a hilarious short script with a large comedic cast and some gunfight action and a car that comes screeching into the wedding?
